Fort Aguada

Visit Fort Aguada, and Fort Chapora. Both these were Portuguese forts used for defensive purposes to guard against the Marathas and other colonial powers.

Fort Aguada houses a large water reservoir that could hold around 2,376,000 gallons of water, which was used to supply water to ships passing by. The Fort has a prison which was used during the Portuguese rule and later by the British Indian government to imprison freedom fighters during the Indian Freedom movement.

Fort Chapora, which was abandoned by the Portuguese in 1892, offers panoramic views of the Chapora River and the Arabian Sea. It offers stunning views of sunset making it a popular spot for photography and sightseeing. Some Indian films have been shot here as well.

Afterwards, visit Vagator Beach, which has two other beaches adjoining it. Enjoy a nice time there. If you want you can go on to visit Anjuna Beach as well. Towards evening, enjoy Goa’s vibrant nightlife.

Old Goa is famous for its impressive churches and convents, which have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some of the most noticeable of these monuments are Basilica of Bom Jesus, Sé Cathedral, Church of St. Cajetan, Church of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Augustine Tower.

Afterwards, drive to Panaji, the capital of Goa. You can visit the Fontainhas Latin Quarter, and the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Have your lunch here. Towards evening, go on to explore Benaulim and Majorda Beach. Enjoy a nice dinner at one of the several lovely restaurants.

Day 10: Dolphin hunt and visit some more beaches

Day 11: Dudhsagar waterfalls, Spice Plantation and casino

Day 12: Goa – Mumbai – Onwards
