Day 1: Arrive in Delhi with travel packages from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, and rest of the world

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to a hotel. Have some rest. If time permits, go for a drive in Delhi, and see some famous landmarks like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, and Jama Mosque. Take a tour of the old Delhi.

Enjoy dinner at a nice restaurant in Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi – Samode Village with travel packages from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and rest of the world

Check out from the hotel in Delhi and head off to Samode Village, some 45km from Jaipur. This is a little more than 5 hours drive from Delhi.

Samode is a quaint village known for its beautifully preserved haveli and rural charm.

Arrive in Samode to a warm Rajasthani welcome, traditional music, and cultural orientation. Check into a heritage resort or heritage mansion in Samode.

Go for a camel cart ride through the village afterwards. Interact with villagers to understand their daily lives and traditions.

Amer Fort, Jaipur

Go for a heritage walk in the morning. Explore ancient havelis adorned with exquisite frescoes, uncovering the tales of Rajput nobility.

Head off to Jaipur, an hour’s drive from Samode. Enjoy a sightseeing of Amber or Amer Fort. Located high on a hill, Amer Palace is great example of Rajput architecture, with definite influences of Mughal style of architecture. This once served as the capital of the Jaipur rulers, before Jaipur came into existence.

Take a tour of the Pink Walled city area of Jaipur. This includes a visit to Jantar Mantar, City Palace, and the market areas. Enjoy some food on your tour in Jaipur. Towards late in the afternoon, return to Samode Village.

Refresh yourself, and enjoy a nice traditional dinner with Rajasthan cultural program in the background. Overnight in Samode.

Day 4: Samode – Shekhawati, the open-air art gallery, with travel packages from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, and rest of the world

Get up leisurely in the morning, and enjoy a nice breakfast. Check out from Samode, and head off to Shekawati region in Sikar District. There are various options to stay in Shekhawati region. You will stay in Mandawa. This is around 3 hours drive from Samode.

Check into a nice resort on arrival in Mandawa. Enjoy your lunch. Have some rest time.

Later, go out to explore the traditional havelis of the business community who once lived in this area. Most of these old traditional mansions are abandoned now, with the third or fourth generation of the caretakers staying there.

The frescoes, and the high class of rural artistry are all so openly visible on the walls of these havelis. That is why the whole region is often referred to as the largest “open-air art gallery” in the world.

Participate in block-printing and pottery workshops. Relish authentic Rajasthani thali in a rural setting. Overnight in Mandawa.

Day 5: Mandawa – Chandelao Garh with travel packages from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and rest of the world

Enjoy a nice breakfast at the resort in Mandawa, and check out. Proceed to Chandelao village, a small village some 40km from Jodhpur city. The best place to stay in this village is Majestic Chandelao Garh,  the ancestral home of the landowners of the area. Check into the place after a somewhat longer drive of a little more than 6 hours.

Chandelao Garh has been tastefully converted to a modern hotel. The Garh provides and opportunity to experience an authentic experience of traditional Rajasthani hospitality in a tranquil village setting.

Have some refreshments on arrival at Chandelao Garh. Later, visit the women’s cooperative to learn about handmade crafts. Spend the evening under a starlit sky enjoying folk songs.

Day 6: Chandelao Garh – Bishnoi Village tour

Attend a traditional Rajasthani cooking class with a local family in Chandelao village. Enjoy a lovely breakfast in the morning. Go on to visit the Bishnoi Villages, around 45 minute drive from Chandelao Garh.

The first stop on the trip to Bishnoil village is Guda Bishnoi Lake, a serene oasis surrounded by arid landscapes. Spot migratory birds like demoiselle cranes and local wildlife such as blackbucks and chinkaras (Indian gazelles). Learn about the Bishnoi community’s efforts to conserve wildlife and nature.

Visit Khejarli, a significant historical site where Bishnois sacrificed their lives in 1730 to protect trees from being felled. Learn about the Amrita Devi Bishnoi movement, which inspired India’s Chipko movement.

Head to Salawas village, known for its traditional pottery craft.  Watch artisans create clay pots, utensils, and decorative items using age-old techniques. Try your hand at pottery under the guidance of local craftsmen.

Enjoy a delicious, home-cooked vegetarian meal at a Bishnoi home or local guesthouse. The meal typically consists of dishes like bajra roti (millet bread), gatte ki sabzi (gram flour curry), and khichdi, prepared with fresh, organic ingredients.

Towards evening enjoy warm hospitality of a Bishnoi family over a cup of masala chai. Listen to folklore and traditional stories. Witness daily rural activities like milking cattle or grinding grains.

Return to Chandelao Garh. Enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner. Overnight in Chandelao Garh.

Day 8: Pali – Ranakpur Jain Temple – Kumbhalgarh

Checkout from the resort and proceed towards Kumbhalgarh. But first you drive to Rankapur Jain Temple, a drive of nearly two hours.

Ranakpur Jain Temple, a 15th century monument, is an architectural marvel dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism. Admire the temple’s intricate carvings and 1,444 uniquely carved marble pillars.

Learn about Jain philosophy and the temple’s historical significance. This temple is a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers, history enthusiasts, and architecture lovers. The central dome, supported by richly sculpted pillars, is particularly mesmerizing.

The temple follows Vaastu Shastra principles, ensuring a harmonious design in sync with nature. Non-Jains are Allowed between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to maintain the sanctity of morning rituals.

After the tour of the temple, have lunch at one of the nice places in Ranakpur only. Head off to Kumbhalgarh afterwards. Kumbhalgarh is a drive of around 1.5 hours from Ranakpur. Kumbhalgarh is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kumbhalgarh Fort, and also known for scenic beauty, and wildlife.

Check into a heritage hotel or eco-resort on arrival. Begin your journey with a visit to the Kumbhalgarh Fort, renowned for its 36-km-long wall (the second longest in the world) and stunning architecture. Explore key attractions like Badal Mahal (Palace of clouds) and Jain Temples within the fort.

Check out after breakfast from Kumbhalgarh, and head off to Udaipur via Delwara village. Delwara is a charming village known for its whitewashed temples and warm locals. This is a drive of less than 2.5 hours from Kumbhalgarh.

Take guided village walks showcasing daily rural life. Enjoy a cooking class featuring traditional Rajasthani dishes.

Delwara is home to several ancient Jain temples, showcasing exquisite architecture. You can also take a guided tour of the Devigarh Palace, a 16th century Rajput Fort, now a luxury hotel.
