Flower Market located at the base of Photo Title the iconic Howrah Bridge on Mullick Ghat is one of the largest in India. A walk through the flower market is a real colourful and fragrant experience. Different colours and varieties of flowers are brought everyday to the market not just for temple prayers but also for wedding decorations, events and festivals. As we walk along the river we see the various communities that live by and depend on it. The Walk will take you to Kumartuli. This is known for its renowned artisans who craft the most beautiful idols from straw and clay. You can see them working and their way of life from close quarters. You can understand how idols are made and from where they source their materials.

Suitable Time: In the morning from 6.30am to 9am (winter) and 6am to 8.30am (summer)

What to Wear and Carry: Normal clothes. If it is winter, slight woolen may be required during morning. If it is summer, prefer light cotton clothes. Wear comfortable footwear as the Flower Market can be slushy. Please carry a liter of bottled drinking water as Kolkata can be humid and you can feel tired standing and walking for close to three hours.
